Dmytro, a 39-year-old man from the village of Kochubeivka in the Kherson region. The village was occupied by soldiers from the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" for two weeks, causing fear and destruction in the community. On the 2nd or 3rd day of their arrival, the soldiers began forcibly taking cars from the villagers and using threats of violence if they refused. Dmytro and his family had to flee to a neighbor's basement for safety. The soldiers ordered the villagers to move to one side of the village and shot at houses and garages if they didn't comply. Two days before the troops left, Dmytro took a woman and child hiding in his basement to her parents in the neighboring village after being granted permission for 40 minutes. Dmytro then evacuated his own family from the village two days later.
